Latest data reveals digital skills amongst young Australians

18 October 2023

The first national NAP–ICT Literacy results since the COVID-19 pandemic have been released today by the Australia Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA).

The test, part of the National Assessment Program (NAP) sample assessments, was undertaken in 2022 and tests students’ general ICT skills and knowledge in a sample of schools across the country. The sample tests are held every three years but were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Share your insights on the improvements to NAPLAN this year

09 October 2023
Following a number of changes to NAPLAN in 2023 including the tests taking place earlier in March rather than May, along with the new proficiency standards, ACARA is keen to hear from principals, assistant principals, teachers, parents and carers about their NAPLAN experience this year.

We would particularly like to understand people’s views on the earlier timing for NAPLAN and the changes to reporting to provide simpler, clearer and more meaningful results to schools, parents and carers. The feedback provided will help inform any future improvements to NAPLAN.

There is a short survey, which will take around 10 minutes to complete, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NRTZCHN. The survey will be open until early December 2023.
