ACARA Update

December 2025

Latest information on every Australian school now available on ACARA’s My School website

Parents, carers and wider school communities can now access the latest information on ACARA’s My School website, which has been updated for 2025 with new profile information on schools and the latest school-level NAPLAN data.

The 2025 update includes data on student progress, which shows how much the same students at the same school have improved since their previous NAPLAN assessment 2 years ago. This information helps clearly demonstrate the progress of students’ learning over the years at all Australian schools.

Alongside the 2023–25 student progress data for schools, the December 2025 My School update also includes:

  • 2025 NAPLAN results for schools
  • 2025 school profile and enrolment data
  • 2025 school attendance data for Semester 1
  • 2024 school financial information, including recurrent funding and capital expenditure
  • 2024 vocational education training participation and outcomes
  • 2024 Year 12 certifications.

“ACARA’s My School website provides parents, carers and the community with clear and transparent data on Australia’s schools,” said ACARA’s CEO, Stephen Gniel.

“The return of information on student progress, following improvements to NAPLAN including assessments and results being available earlier in the year, shows how much the same students at the same school have improved since their previous NAPLAN assessments.

“Student progress data provides the information to celebrate improvement in a fairer way that considers the individual circumstances of a school, as well as to better identify areas for renewed or continued focus,” Mr Gniel said.

Open letter to News Corp about their crude school rankings

ACARA has long discouraged the use of data from our My School website to compare NAPLAN achievements out of context by creating and publishing league tables – they are misleading for our parents and carers because they don’t show the full picture of a school.

We are disappointed to see some media organisations causing more harm than good by publishing these league tables. Our hard-working teachers, principals and young people deserve better – especially those in areas of significant socio-educational disadvantage.

Only ACARA’s My School website – myschool.edu.au – provides the full picture for every school in Australia. It gives parents and carers, as well as the wider community, a more comprehensive picture of our schools, which of course should always be accompanied by a visit to the school itself.
