NAPLAN Individual Student Reports have been released

Parents and carers across Australia are now receiving new-look NAPLAN Individual Student Reports (ISRs), which more clearly and simply show their child’s NAPLAN achievement against the higher national standards.

It also means parents and carers have the information they need to work with their school to help their child get support if they need it.

We have produced a video explaining how to read the new NAPLAN Individual Student Reports.

It shows how a child’s results in each of the NAPLAN tests compares against national standards by looking at an example of an individual student report for a Year 7 student.

Public consultation is open on the next phase of the Australian Curriculum: Languages Review

The next phase of the Languages curriculum review is now underway.

ACARA has released proposed revisions to the next 4 Australian Curriculum: Languages (Chinese for Background and First-language learners, Classical Languages Framework, Classical Greek and Latin) for public comment.

The public consultation period closes on 12 September 2023 so there’s still plenty of time to have your say through our online survey.

National Report on Schooling in Australia 2022, Release 1

The National Report on Schooling (ANR) in Australia is now being released progressively in report format, with associated commentary, as information is available. 

The first 3 chapters (Release 1) of the National Report on Schooling in Australia 2022 are now available, showing progress by Australia’s school education sector against nationally agreed policy initiatives in the areas of schools and schooling, school enrolment and attendance, and participation in education and work.

ACARA's submission to the parliamentary inquiry on the use of generative AI in education

The House Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training adopted an inquiry into the use of generative artificial intelligence in the Australian education system on 24 May 2023 following a referral from the Minister of Education, the Hon Jason Clare, MP.

ACARA’s submission focuses on how the new Australian Curriculum, Version 9.0 can be used to teach students about the key mathematical, scientific and technological concepts that underpin the development and use of artificial intelligence, and to provide opportunities for discussing its ethical use.
