Literacy, numeracy and ICT continua

·         Literacy, numeracy and ICT continua will inform curriculum development in all learning areas. They will also be used to inform future National Assessment Programs.

·         Each continuum will illustrate specific knowledge and skills to be taught across the learning areas and will be accompanied by student work samples.

·         Development of these continua is informed by understanding of learning at the different stages of schooling, and by other relevant contemporary research and measurement.

·         The literacy and numeracy continua focus on what students should be taught by the end of Years 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.

·         The ICT continuum will contain conceptual organisers describing the knowledge and skills students should be taught by the end of Years 2, 6 and 10.
