The draft paper, Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Economics and Business, has been released for consultation through 12 October. The draft Economics and Business shape paper proposes that the curriculum be underpinned by four overarching ideas:
- Resource allocation and making choices;
- Consumer and financial literacy;
- Enterprising behaviours and capabilities; and
- Work and business environments.
ACARA will finalise the shape paper based on feedback received during the consultation period. The final shape paper will be used to guide the writing of the draft Australian Curriculum for Economics and Business, which will be released for public consultation next year.

The Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Technologies have been finalised after public consultation and are now available on the ACARA website. These Shape papers will guide the writing of the Foundation to Year 12 Health and Physical Education and Technologies curriculum.
Feedback received from public consultation on the draft Shape papers for Health and Physical Education and Technologies has been collated, analysed and summarised in a consultation report for each learning area.

ACARA recently appointed writers and advisory group members for both Health and Physical Education and Technologies. The successful applicants will participate in their induction program this week marking the beginning of the writing phase for these learning areas.
